Social Video Editor (Contract)

Linktree is hiring a Social Video Editor on a contract basis in New York, New York. This role sits within the content and social team, responsible for editing platform-native video from raw footage through final delivery across Reels, Shorts, TikTok, and YouTube. It suits an editor with a genuine feel for social post-production workflow, someone who has spent real time cutting for digital channels and knows the difference between content that performs and content that just exists.

About the Role

This is a high-output editing position inside Linktree’s content operation, where the work covers original shoots, UGC, and creator footage shaped into polished social-first cuts. A typical day involves managing multiple edits across formats and aspect ratios, producing versioned assets for channel testing, and applying performance data to sharpen future cuts. The role owns the full post-production pipeline, from selects and assembly through motion graphics, sound, and final export.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit original and UGC footage end-to-end, delivering platform-native cuts tailored specifically to Reels, YouTube Shorts, and long-form social video formats.
• Produce high-volume versioning across hooks, durations, aspect ratios, and endings to support continuous publishing cadence and creative testing.
• Build openings and retention structures that apply audio and visual best practices native to each social platform’s viewing behavior.
• Create motion graphics, title treatments, subtitles, and screen recordings that support comprehension without adding unnecessary production weight to the post-production workflow.
• Manage project files, version control, source media, and final exports across a multi-asset pipeline with clear organization and proactive communication on asset gaps.
• Work directly with channel managers to develop edit approaches and translate performance findings into stronger creative decisions on future cuts.

What You Bring

• 3 to 5 years editing social or digital video for a brand, agency, publisher, or production company, with credits across recognizable channels or campaigns.
• A portfolio demonstrating storytelling, pacing, and craft across Reels, TikTok, Shorts, or YouTube formats, with clear range across tones and content types.
• Expert-level proficiency in Premiere Pro or equivalent professional editing software, fluency in CapCut, and working knowledge of After Effects or comparable motion tools.
• Demonstrated ability to cut mixed-quality or loosely structured footage into coherent, compelling stories without requiring full production support.
• Systems thinking applied to a high-volume edit queue, including template building, efficient versioning, and deadline management without quality loss.
