FOX Entertainment is hiring a Senior Video Transmission Engineer for Sports Production at their Los Angeles facility on West Pico Boulevard. This role sits within FOX Network Engineering and Architecture, responsible for designing and maintaining the transmission infrastructure that gets live sports signals from the venue to broadcast and digital platforms in real time. It suits an engineer who has worked the high-stakes side of live broadcast television and knows what it means when the feed drops during a playoff game.

About the Role

You will work directly with FOX Sports Engineering and Field Operations, supporting live sports broadcast workflows across major events including NFL and other Tier 1 properties. Day to day, that means managing contribution and distribution paths between remote venues, broadcast centers, and cloud environments, and being the person who solves signal problems while the show is on air. This is a hands-on individual contributor position, not a managerial one, and the schedule follows live sports production calendars including nights, weekends, and major events.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and maintain transmission paths for live sports production using fiber, satellite, IP transport including SMPTE ST 2110 and ST 2022, and bonded cellular solutions.
• Coordinate contribution and distribution workflows between remote venues, broadcast centers, and cloud environments across the live broadcast television pipeline.
• Provide real-time troubleshooting and escalation support during live events, working against production timelines where downtime is not an option.
• Design and implement failover and redundancy strategies that keep live event broadcast workflows on air through technical failures.
• Monitor signal integrity, latency, network performance, and redundancy across all transmission paths for live sports broadcast.
• Support the integration of cloud-based media workflows and remote production REMI models into existing broadcast infrastructure.

What You Bring

• Seven or more years working in broadcast transmission, network engineering, or live production environments.
• Solid working knowledge of video transport protocols including MPEG-TS, SRT, RIST, and RTP/UDP.
• Hands-on experience with SMPTE ST 2110, NMOS, and IP-based broadcast systems in high-bandwidth environments.
• Familiarity with satellite uplink and downlink operations and fiber contribution services such as Lumen, Zayo, or The Switch.
• Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect are a plus, as is scripting experience in Python or Bash.
