Job Position(s): Recurring Remote Makeup Artist
Project Type: Film & Television
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

Disney is hiring a Recurring Remote Makeup Artist to work across live sports and broadcast television production in a fully remote capacity throughout the USA. This role sits within ESPN’s broadcast operations department, responsible for the on-air appearance of announcers, show hosts, and athletes under live production conditions. It’s a strong fit for a freelance makeup artist with broadcast or television experience who can work independently without on-site supervision.

About the Role

This part-time position supports ESPN’s live sports broadcast workflow, which means the schedule follows the sports calendar rather than a traditional production week, including holidays, weekends, and event-driven travel. On a typical call, you’re prepping on-air talent for HD camera under time constraints, often in temporary or field production setups away from a studio lot. The work requires someone who understands how makeup reads on broadcast cameras and can adapt quickly to different lighting environments across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply and finish makeup to achieve clean, natural looks that hold up under HD broadcast camera conditions and variable lighting setups.
  • Match skin tones to appropriate color palettes to determine the most camera-accurate looks for each talent.
  • Style hair across a range of textures and lengths, using blow-dry techniques and appropriate products to achieve the required on-camera result.
  • Work within tight pre-air windows, managing prep time accurately across multiple talent in a live broadcast environment.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitized kit and work area in compliance with health and safety standards at each production location.
  • Advise talent on appearance adjustments as needed, while maintaining the confidence to trust your own professional judgment under minimal supervision.

What You Bring

  • Minimum of one year of freelance or professional makeup artist experience, ideally within broadcast television or live event production.
  • Valid cosmetology or aesthetics license, or equivalent certification, is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver clean HD-ready looks efficiently across different skin tones and hair types.
  • A valid driver’s license is required, as travel to sports broadcast locations is part of the role.
  • Strong interpersonal skills when working directly with on-air talent, including celebrities, athletes, and network hosts.

Why This Role

ESPN’s live sports production operation is one of the most active broadcast environments in American television, and this Recurring Remote Makeup Artist position puts you inside that workflow on a recurring basis. The pay rate for this remote role is $22.00 to $88.50 per hour, with variation based on geographic region, experience, and skills, and select benefits including medical and financial options may be available. For a freelance makeup artist looking to build consistent broadcast credits with a major network, Disney’s ESPN operation offers real production volume and variety.

Apply now for the Recurring Remote Makeup Artist role at Disney and bring your broadcast beauty skills to one of the most recognized sports television networks in the industry.
