Vancouver Actors Guide is casting a speaking role for Project: Toyo Spring 2027, a non-union commercial production based in Vancouver, BC. This is an on-camera talent role requiring fluency in Quebecois French, with deliverables spanning national television broadcast and online distribution. The role suits performers with strong conversational presence and the kind of grounded, naturalistic energy that reads well in commercial spots built around real-person authenticity.

About the Role

Project: Toyo Spring 2027 is a non-union commercial production seeking talent for a speaking role with full national and digital distribution. The performer will work within a scripted commercial format where chemistry and believability are the primary casting criteria, not a polished commercial look. A typical engagement covers a wardrobe fitting, a single production day, and a buyout covering two years of national TV broadcast plus five years of online use.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver scripted dialogue in Quebecois French with the natural rhythm and cadence specific to that dialect, not standard Continental French.
  • Participate in a wardrobe fitting session ahead of the production shoot day.
  • Perform on a commercial production set for up to a ten-hour day as outlined in the session agreement.
  • Bring genuine interpersonal chemistry when cast alongside other talent, as the spot is built around authentic relational energy.
  • Prepare multiple interpretations of the provided script sides and submit up to three takes as part of the self-tape audition process.

What You Bring

  • Fluency in Quebecois French is required, not optional or approximate.
  • Non-union status, as this is a non-union commercial production.
  • Self-tape experience with the ability to record and label multiple takes to submission specifications.
  • On-camera commercial or television performance credits that demonstrate naturalistic presence rather than theatrical technique.
  • Representation by a talent agent is welcome, though demos and headshots are not required from agents at submission stage.

Why This Role

Vancouver Actors Guide is the established free resource for the Vancouver acting community, and Project: Toyo Spring 2027 offers competitive non-union commercial rates: a session fee of $500 for a ten-hour day, usage of $2,500, and a wardrobe fitting fee of $100, plus 15% agency fee where applicable. The buyout structure, two years of national TV broadcast and five years of online, provides meaningful long-term usage value for working performers. Submissions are due Wednesday, July 8 at 10:00 AM PST, with successful selections confirmed by Monday, July 13, 2026.
