Project: Speakers

Vancouver Actors Guide is hiring a Speaker for a video production project based in Vancouver, BC. This role is an on-camera performance position, placing the talent in front of camera for a half-day shoot producing finished content for the Vancouver acting community resource. It suits a working screen actor with on-camera presence and experience delivering to camera in a non-scripted or presenter format.

About the Role

This is a single-project engagement sitting within the performance and on-camera content production space, developed specifically for the Vancouver Actors Guide platform. The shoot is a half-day, so talent should be comfortable hitting the ground running with minimal rehearsal time and delivering clean, usable takes efficiently. The finished content will be distributed online and serves as an educational or informational resource for the local acting community.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver on-camera speaker performance for a half-day production shoot in Vancouver.
• Prepare and present material in a clear, direct style suited to an acting community audience.
• Take direction from the production team and adjust delivery across multiple takes as needed.
• Maintain consistent energy and framing across the shoot to support efficient post-production editing.
• Review any provided scripts or talking points in advance to arrive camera-ready on shoot day.
• Contribute to a smooth, professional on-set workflow appropriate for a single-day commercial video production.

What You Bring

• A current headshot, demo reel, and CV reflecting your on-camera performance credits.
• Comfort working as a presenter or on-camera speaker, not just a scripted dramatic performer.
• Experience in commercial video production, corporate content, or on-camera spokesperson work is an asset.
• Professionalism suitable for a small crew, single-location shoot with a condensed schedule.
• Based in or able to work in Vancouver, BC without travel or accommodation support.

Why This Role

Vancouver Actors Guide is a well-established free resource serving the Vancouver acting community, and content produced here reaches working actors across the city and beyond. The flat rate for this project is $750, covering the half-day shoot and licensing the performance for five years of online usage. For a speaker role, that is a clear, straightforward deal with no royalty ambiguity.
