About the Role

This Freelance Production Assistant position is embedded in the NBC Sports Premier League production team, working out of the Stamford facility on live studio shows and their surrounding content. Day-to-day work spans highlight production, footage logging, editorial support, and show prep, putting you inside the full broadcast production workflow from raw feed to air. The contract runs up to 12 to 14 months to start, with full-time on-site hours including weekends and early mornings.

Key Responsibilities

• Support graphics and highlight production for live studio sports television broadcasts, assisting editors on packages, bumpers, and teases.
• Screen, log, and write editorial guidance for daily highlight operations across Premier League coverage.
• Secure video and audio footage from newsfeeds and archives for use in highlight packages and feature segments.
• Monitor social media and newsfeed sources for show-relevant content and flag material for production staff.
• Learn and operate the NBC Sports digital archive system to pull and manage footage assets.
• Contribute story and show ideas across platforms, attend all production meetings, and support every phase of the assigned show’s production cycle.

What You Bring

• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional production experience in broadcast or sports television.
• At least one year of hands-on experience in a production role, ideally within live sports or episodic television.
• Solid working knowledge of Premier League soccer, including clubs, players, and the competition calendar.
• Familiarity with broadcast post-production workflow, including shot selection, logging, and editorial assist work.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills suited to a live production environment with tight turnarounds.
• Unrestricted US work authorization and the ability to commute to Stamford outside of standard public transit hours.
