Paramount is hiring an Executive Producer for CBS News Atlanta, based in Atlanta, Georgia. This role sits at the top of the newsroom management chain, overseeing editorial strategy, broadcast execution, and digital content across all dayparts for a brand-new CBS affiliate launch. It suits a senior news producer or news manager who has built teams in major markets and knows how to shape a station’s editorial identity from the ground up.

About the Role

CBS News Atlanta is standing up a next-generation newsroom, and this Executive Producer will be the person who defines what it looks and sounds like across broadcast television and digital platforms. The role covers everything from breaking news coverage to long-form storytelling in a full AR/VR studio environment, which means the output spans live episodic television, streaming, and social distribution simultaneously. On any given day, this person is reviewing scripts, coaching on-air talent, managing producers and photographers, and working directly with the News Director on station-wide editorial decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct editorial strategy and production execution across all dayparts, ensuring broadcast and digital content meets CBS News standards and FCC compliance requirements.
• Lead coverage decisions during breaking news and severe weather events, coordinating newsroom resources in real time across linear and streaming formats.
• Review and copy edit news scripts for accuracy, tone, and regulatory compliance before they reach air.
• Manage the station’s brand consistency across broadcast television, the CBS News Streaming Network, and social media platforms.
• Mentor producers, photographers, and on-air talent through regular critique sessions, functioning as a day-to-day editorial coach across the full production team.
• Partner with the News Director and Assistant News Director to own community outreach initiatives and station events tied to the Atlanta market.

What You Bring

• A minimum of six years working as a producer, or three or more years in a news management role within a Top 25 television market.
• A bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or Communications.
• Demonstrated experience leading newsroom teams through breaking news and live episodic television production.
• Fluency with social media and digital distribution tools used for content discovery and community listening.
• A track record of developing talent and building editorial culture in a broadcast news environment.
