NBCUniversal is hiring a Production Assistant for a DreamWorks feature animation project based in Glendale, CA. This role sits inside a specific production department, supporting the Production Coordinator and Production Supervisor with the day-to-day logistics that keep an animated feature moving through the pipeline. It is a strong fit for someone coming out of a feature animation internship or entry-level production role who wants to build real department experience at a major animation studio.

About the Role

The DreamWorks Feature Production Assistant works embedded within a single department, learning its workflows and acting as the connective tissue between artists, department leadership, and the broader production. On any given day, that means managing schedules, tracking equipment, processing timecards, and fielding requests when senior production staff are unavailable. This is a hybrid position, with a minimum of four days per week on-site at the Glendale studio.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Production Coordinator and Production Supervisor with scheduling, room bookings, and department calendar management, including direct scheduling for the Department Head.
• Maintain a detailed inventory of department equipment and assist with department moves and physical setup throughout the production.
• Gather and organize research materials specific to the department’s production needs.
• Handle daily office operations including meeting prep, timecard processing, supply orders, shipping, and note distribution.
• Serve as a secondary point of contact for department questions when the Production Supervisor and Production Coordinator are not available.
• Communicate status updates and priorities proactively, and coordinate with outside departments on cross-functional production needs.

What You Bring

• Prior feature animation production experience or a production internship at an animation studio is preferred.
• Working knowledge of Gmail, Microsoft Word, and Excel is expected; familiarity with Shotgun, Maya, Flix, Linux, or Photoshop is a genuine advantage in the animation pipeline.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills suited to a high-volume production environment.
• Ability to manage multiple competing requests across departments without losing track of priorities.
• A bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.
