About the Role

Interns are embedded in the documentary production department at Warner Bros. Discovery, working across development, research, and editorial support on long-form nonfiction content. A typical day might involve pulling archival footage, fact-checking scripts, or sitting in on a pitch session where story ideas are shaped for broadcast. The program runs 10 weeks, from October 12th through December 18th, with interns working 16 to 24 hours per week in a hybrid capacity.

Key Responsibilities

• Pitch story ideas and contribute to the development of documentary subjects, characters, and expert sources for long-form nonfiction production.
• Research and gather archival footage, media assets, and editorial materials to support the production team across active projects.
• Transcribe interviews, log footage, and organize visual elements within the documentary post-production workflow.
• Assist editorial staff by shadowing cuts and providing written coverage and feedback on documentary films in consideration.
• Prepare and present pitches for shows and story concepts, gaining direct experience in how nonfiction television development works.
• Gather and organize industry data relevant to current topical news and documentary subject matter.

What You Bring

• Currently enrolled as a rising Junior or rising Senior at an accredited college or university, with a GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and similar platforms used across production and development departments.
• Genuine interest in nonfiction storytelling, documentary filmmaking, and topical news coverage.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills suited to both research documentation and pitch environments.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship, now or in the future. Candidates on F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1, or similar visas are not eligible.
