Director/Shooter

Dhar Mann Studios is hiring a Director/Shooter to join their Changing Lives Productions team in Burbank, California. This is a single-operator production role spanning the full content creation pipeline, from directing talent on set to delivering a polished final cut ready for social media distribution. It suits a narrative-minded shooter with a background in branded video production or short-form scripted content who moves comfortably between camera and editing bay.

About the Role

Changing Lives Productions generates over one billion monthly views across Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok through short scripted videos built around real life situations and moral storytelling. The Director/Shooter works within a newly formed content division, taking scripts from the writing team and owning the entire shoot-to-delivery workflow. A typical day moves between shot listing, directing actor performances on set, and cutting story-driven edits with an eye on pacing and emotional pull.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate scripts into shot plans that serve both narrative clarity and social-first video production performance goals.
• Direct actors through emotionally grounded performances while managing set tempo to hit production targets.
• Operate camera with full responsibility for visual composition, framing, and lens movement throughout the shoot day.
• Execute the complete post-production workflow, including story assembly, pacing edits, and narrative structure from first cut through final delivery.
• Apply color correction and sound design to bring each piece up to a releasable standard without a dedicated finishing team.
• Work directly with screenwriters and producers to align creative vision before cameras roll and flag any script-to-screen challenges early.

What You Bring

• A minimum of three years directing, shooting, and editing scripted or branded video content in a professional setting.
• Hands-on editing experience in Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or a comparable non-linear editing system.
• A reel that demonstrates cinematic visual instincts and the ability to pull grounded performances from actors.
• A track record of working efficiently within short-form video production environments where output volume matters.
• Prior work that reached meaningful audience scale on social platforms is a genuine plus for this role.
