Director – Security Operations

AMC Networks is hiring a Director of Security Operations based out of their New York, NY headquarters. This role sits within the Real Estate, Facilities and Security team and is responsible for building and running the full physical security program across AMC Networks’ cable, streaming, and studio operations. It’s a senior leadership position that suits someone coming out of corporate security or law enforcement who knows how to operate inside a large media company with high-profile talent, events, and intellectual property on the line.

About the Role

The Director of Security Operations reports into a facilities and real estate structure, which means this person is embedded in the day-to-day operational life of a company running multiple linear networks, streaming services including AMC+, Shudder, and Acorn TV, and an in-house studio producing episodic television properties like The Walking Dead Universe. On any given day, that means managing contract security personnel at leased office properties, coordinating with landlord security teams, and preparing executive-level reporting on incident response and risk posture. When the company is running a high-profile premiere or industry event, this role takes point on security coordination from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement company-wide physical security strategies and policies that reflect the operational scope of a multi-brand media organization running both linear and streaming television.
• Conduct internal risk assessments and security audits across corporate and production facilities, delivering written recommendations to improve existing protocols.
• Lead crisis management training and run regular emergency response drills for staff at all levels, including senior leadership.
• Investigate online threats directed at company personnel and coordinate appropriate response with internal stakeholders and outside counsel as needed.
• Manage relationships with contract security vendors and outside consultants, holding them accountable to company standards.
• Liaise directly with U.S. law enforcement and intelligence contacts to support both routine security operations and active incident response.

What You Bring

• 10 or more years of combined experience in corporate security leadership and law enforcement, with a track record at the director level or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Deep working knowledge of physical security technology, crisis management protocols, and current security best practices in a corporate environment.
• Established relationships with U.S. law enforcement and intelligence personnel and the professional standing to work effectively across those agencies.
• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive personnel information with discretion and to make sound decisions under pressure.
