Rodeo FX is hiring a Director of Finance for Mikros Animation, based in Montreal. This role sits at the center of the studio’s financial operation, owning everything from project profitability analysis on feature film and television productions to budget planning, forecasting, and cash management. About the Role

The Director of Finance reports to the Group CFO and works closely with the President of Mikros Animation, acting as the primary financial partner across commercial, operational, and production teams. Day to day, this means tracking margins on active projects, supporting bid reviews for incoming productions, and presenting monthly results to senior leadership with clear variance analysis. Mikros Animation produces content for both theatrical and episodic television, so the financial complexity spans long-cycle feature film budgets and faster-moving series production schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead financial partner to the President of Mikros Animation and the Group CFO, providing analysis that directly informs production and business decisions.
• Review client bids and project proposals to assess budget assumptions, margin viability, and financial risk before commitments are made.
• Lead the annual budget cycle and rolling forecasts, ensuring accuracy and alignment with the studio’s production slate and growth targets.
• Oversee all accounting operations for Mikros Animation, including month-end close, financial reporting, and compliance with applicable tax and regulatory obligations.
• Monitor cash flow and anticipate liquidity needs in the context of multi-project animation production schedules.
• Maintain internal controls, governance practices, and relationships with auditors, financial institutions, and other external stakeholders.

What You Bring

• CPA designation or equivalent, with significant experience in a senior finance role within an animation studio, VFX pipeline environment, or film and television production company.
• Hands-on experience with project-based financial management, including margin tracking across concurrent productions.
• Fluency in French and English, given the bilingual environment of the Montreal studio and the international nature of Mikros Animation’s client base.
• Demonstrated ability to present financial results and recommendations clearly to non-finance executives and production leadership.
• Experience managing or mentoring a finance team, with an ability to work within a shared-services structure.
