Sony Pictures Entertainment

Job Type
Sony Pictures Entertainment is hiring a Coordinator Post Production to join its TV Post Production team in Culver City, California. This role sits inside the department that supervises the full post-production workflow for Sony Pictures Television’s live-action scripted slate, from early prep through final delivery to networks. It’s a good fit for someone early in their career who wants hands-on exposure to episodic television post at scale, across a wide range of shows and platforms.
About the Role
Sony Pictures Television Studios produces 50 or more shows per year, including The Boys, Outlander, Spider-Noir, and Platonic, and this coordinator sits at the center of keeping that output organized and on track. The TV Post Production department interfaces with Production Accounting, Finance, Business Affairs, and Mastering, which means this role touches nearly every stage of the post-production workflow. On any given week, the Coordinator Post Production is tracking cut dates, processing new hire paperwork, maintaining VFX cost trackers, and keeping the department’s scheduling documents current.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage episodic and seasonal wrap paperwork deliverables across the full SPT scripted slate, ensuring each show meets its post-production milestones.
- Coordinate and finalize deals for post team hires including Assistant Editors and Post Production Assistants, and verify union membership for all new starts.
- Maintain VFX and post cost trackers with current budget data from individual productions, and generate VFX vendor contracts on a per-show basis.
- Update the Combined Schedule weekly to reflect the latest cut dates and editorial changes across active episodic television productions.
- Oversee document organization within Scenechronize, keeping deliverables accessible and current for the department and partner teams.
- Serve as the department’s primary point of contact for incoming communication, and deliver the latest scripts to the department head on a weekly basis.
What You Bring
- Zero to two years of experience in post-production, television production, or a production support role, with internships counting toward that experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for budget and VFX tracking, Word, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with Scenechronize or a willingness to learn the platform quickly.
- A basic understanding of the episodic television post-production process, including how post interacts with editorial, VFX, and delivery pipelines.
- Ability to handle confidential production and deal information with discretion.
- A bachelor’s degree in Film, Television, Communications, or a related field is preferred, though equivalent production experience is considered.
Why This Role
Sony Pictures Television is the largest independent TV studio in the industry, and this position puts a coordinator inside a department that oversees post across an unusually broad production slate, which is real career depth for someone building experience in post-production workflow. The anticipated base salary for this position is $29 per hour to $33 per hour, and the role may also qualify for incentives and comprehensive benefits. For someone who wants to understand how episodic television actually gets finished and delivered at volume, this is a direct path into that knowledge.
