Job Type
Disney is hiring a Content Research Insights & Analytics Intern for Spring 2027, based out of their Burbank, CA offices. This role sits within Disney Entertainment’s Research, Insights, and Analytics team, where the day-to-day output is ratings reporting, streaming performance analysis, and data presentations that go directly to network and streaming executives. It’s the right fit for a junior or senior undergrad who wants real exposure to television audience measurement and the business intelligence tools that drive programming decisions at a major studio.
About the Role
The Content Research Insights & Analytics Intern works inside a department that supports decision-making across Disney Entertainment and the broader Walt Disney Company, pulling from both U.S. and global streaming datasets. This is a full-time, six-month internship running January 2027 through June 2027, structured around episodic television and streaming performance cycles. A typical day involves building or updating ratings reports, running queries against large datasets, and translating viewership numbers into clear narratives for non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Report on key trends in episodic television viewership using Nielsen and other industry-standard audience measurement platforms.
- Build and maintain ratings reports, analyses, and presentations that track program performance across linear and streaming distribution.
- Use SQL and scripting languages to query cloud-based data warehouses and work with large-scale multivariate datasets.
- Apply business intelligence tools including Looker, Tableau, and Alteryx to contextualize streaming data for internal stakeholders.
- Work with U.S. and global streaming data to benchmark performance across Disney’s television and streaming portfolio.
- Present findings to cross-departmental teams, translating data outputs into clear, story-driven insights for executives across the company.
What You Bring
- Junior or senior standing in Information Systems, Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Excel, including lookups, arrays, and logic formulas, plus working knowledge of PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Experience or coursework in SQL and familiarity with cloud-based data warehouse environments.
- Exposure to Looker, Tableau, or Alteryx is a plus, as is any experience handling large files or datasets.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present data clearly to non-technical audiences.
Why This Role
Disney’s Entertainment Research team works across one of the largest television and streaming portfolios in the industry, giving interns direct access to real viewership data at a scale most analysts never see early in their careers. The internship is structured to teach, not just assign, with dedicated mentorship around tools, access, and the broader streaming performance landscape. For anyone looking to build a career in television data and analytics, this is a department with genuine reach inside a major studio.
