Untold Studios is hiring a Compositor to join their VFX team in Toronto, Canada. This role sits within the compositing department, responsible for integrating live-action footage, CG elements, and 2D and 3D layers into completed visual effects shots ready for delivery. About the Role

Compositors at Untold Studios work directly alongside VFX Supervisors and Lead Artists across a range of content productions, bringing together the final elements that make each shot work. Day-to-day, that means pulling elements from multiple sources, attending dailies, addressing notes, and managing your own shot list against production deadlines. The studio is committed to individual development, pairing each compositor with a personal progression plan so there’s a clear path forward.

Key Responsibilities

• Integrate 2D, 3D, and live-action elements to a high standard across assigned shots within the VFX pipeline.
• Receive creative briefs from Lead Artists and VFX Supervisors, then execute shots to the technical and artistic specifications provided.
• Attend dailies, interpret feedback constructively, and implement revisions efficiently within the production schedule.
• Apply knowledge of CG techniques and compositing principles to build on existing setups or develop your own where required.
• Liaise regularly with production and leads to track shot progress, flag capacity issues, and meet project deadlines.
• Take full ownership of your workload across the duration of each project, from initial brief through to final delivery.

What You Bring

• Proven compositing credits across film, television, or high-end commercial post-production workflow.
• Strong working knowledge of industry standard compositing software, such as Nuke, used in professional VFX production environments.
• Solid understanding of CG techniques including light matching, colour grading, and element integration.
• The ability to communicate clearly with leads and production, and adapt your approach based on direct feedback.
• A consistent track record of delivering high quality VFX work under real production deadlines.
