Project Type: Commercial
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

WildBrain is hiring a Commercial Director based in Singapore to lead licensing and retail strategy across Southeast Asia. This role sits within the brand licensing division, responsible for driving revenue across WildBrain’s portfolio of entertainment properties through partner acquisition, account management, and retail activation across markets including Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. It suits a senior commercial professional with a strong track record in entertainment licensing who knows how to build and manage a regional sales team.

About the Role

The Commercial Director operates as the senior commercial lead for SEA, working directly alongside the regional VP to shape and execute licensing strategy across all brand categories. Day to day, this means managing a portfolio of licensee accounts, leading cycle planning reviews, and working closely with the Retail and Marketing team to secure distribution and cross-promotional activity at retail. The role also carries responsibility for developing the commercial team and acting as the primary point of contact for select licensor relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and execute the regional licensing and retail strategy in partnership with the VP, reviewing commercial performance quarterly through cycle planning meetings.
  • Lead account management for select licensor relationships, driving the commercial team to activate agreed brand licensing strategies across SEA markets.
  • Identify, negotiate, and secure new licensee partnerships in line with licensor requirements, with a focus on expanding the active partner base.
  • Prepare and manage annual commercial forecasts, overseeing a personal portfolio of category accounts alongside team-wide targets.
  • Conduct business reviews for licensors and internal management, collecting market intelligence and surfacing category opportunities across the region.
  • Build and develop a high-performing sales team, including defining category management responsibilities and supporting individual growth.

What You Bring

  • Significant experience in brand licensing or entertainment licensing, ideally across multiple Southeast Asian markets.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex licensee and licensor relationships at a senior commercial level.
  • Experience building and leading a regional sales or commercial team, including forecasting and portfolio management.
  • Familiarity with retail distribution strategy and cross-promotional activity within the consumer products and entertainment space.
  • Comfort representing a company at trade fairs and industry events across the region and internationally.

Why This Role

WildBrain is one of the few entertainment studios with a fully integrated licensing operation spanning production, distribution, and brand management, giving the Commercial Director genuine visibility across the full entertainment licensing pipeline. The SEA region represents a growth market for the company, meaning this role carries real commercial weight and scope to shape strategy rather than simply execute it.

Apply now for the Commercial Director position at WildBrain and take the lead on one of the most consequential licensing mandates in Southeast Asian entertainment.
