About the Role

A typical day involves real production tasks tied to the department’s output, not coffee runs.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist producers in researching, scripting, and fact-checking content for international broadcast segments and digital news platforms.
• Support the editorial team in logging and organizing footage within the newsroom’s media asset management system.
• Participate in pre-production planning for live news programming, including rundown preparation and timing coordination.
• Contribute to post-production workflow by reviewing cuts, pulling selects, and flagging technical or editorial issues for senior staff.
• Monitor international wire services and source material to support breaking news coverage across CNN International’s broadcast schedule.
• Work within the production team to prepare graphics briefs, script notes, and segment breakdowns for on-air talent and field correspondents.

What You Bring

• Current enrollment in or recent completion of a degree program in journalism, film and television production, communications, or a related field.
• Familiarity with broadcast newsroom tools and non-linear editing environments is a plus.
• Some prior experience in episodic television, student journalism, or campus broadcast media demonstrates relevant production awareness.
• Strong written communication skills suited to broadcast copy and digital news formats.
• Ability to work within a structured newsroom environment where deadlines are non-negotiable.
