Camera Operator – Seasonal
- Part Time
- Miami, FL, United States
Univision Communications, Inc
TelevisaUnivision is hiring a seasonal Camera Operator at its Miami, FL operation, one of the most active Spanish-language broadcast television hubs in the United States. This role sits within the camera department, directly supporting live and studio television production across news, sports, and entertainment programming. It’s a strong fit for an operator with broadcast television experience who is comfortable in a high-output studio environment and ready to contribute immediately.
About the Role
The Camera Operator works within a camera department that feeds content across multiple broadcast networks and streaming platforms, including Univision and UniMás. Day-to-day work involves operating studio and field cameras for live broadcast television production, following director cues, and maintaining shot consistency across segments. Given the seasonal nature of the position, you can expect a concentrated schedule tied to specific programming cycles rather than a year-round staff rotation.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate studio cameras during live broadcast television productions, executing shot lists and responding to real-time direction from the control room.
- Maintain proper framing, focus, and exposure during fast-moving segments including news broadcasts, sports coverage, and entertainment programming.
- Coordinate with the technical director and camera department head to ensure consistent camera placement and shot composition across multi-camera setups.
- Perform pre-shoot camera checks, including white balance, iris settings, and lens calibration, before each production block.
- Adapt quickly to format changes between episodic television segments, live event coverage, and studio talk formats within a single production day.
- Communicate any technical issues with camera equipment to engineering staff to minimize disruption to the broadcast schedule.
What You Bring
- Demonstrated experience as a camera operator in broadcast television production, studio or field.
- Familiarity with professional broadcast cameras commonly used in live television environments.
- Ability to read and execute shot cards and respond to interruptible foldback (IFB) direction during live production.
- Comfort working within multi-camera studio setups across news, sports, or entertainment formats.
- Availability to work a seasonal schedule with variable hours tied to the production calendar.
Why This Role
TelevisaUnivision operates one of the largest Spanish-language broadcast television networks in the world, with a production output that spans live news, live sports, and original entertainment content distributed across broadcast and streaming platforms. Working camera on productions at this scale, and at this volume, builds a resume that carries real weight in both English and Spanish-language television markets. Miami is a central hub for the company’s U.S. production activity, which means consistent workflow and proximity to decision-makers in the organization.
Apply now for the Camera Operator position with TelevisaUnivision and bring your broadcast television experience to one of the most prolific production operations in Miami.
