Senior VFX Production Coordinator

Rodeo FX is hiring a Senior VFX Production Coordinator based in Montreal, Canada. This role sits at the center of the VFX pipeline, tracking shot progress from turnover through final delivery and keeping artists, supervisors, and clients aligned throughout the life of a project. It suits a coordinator who already knows how a VFX house runs and can manage the pressure of daily reviews without losing the thread on longer-range deadlines.

About the Role

The Senior VFX Production Coordinator works directly with VFX Supervisors and Producers across Rodeo FX’s slate of feature film and episodic television projects, owning the shot list and schedule as living documents that reflect actual production status at any given moment. Day to day, that means running dailies, distributing client notes, managing file transfers with the Production Assistant, and meeting individually with artists to confirm targets and surface any risks before they become problems.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the show shot list and keep shot status current so an accurate production report can be produced at any time.
• Set weekly targets with the VFX Supervisor and Producer, then meet daily with assigned artists to track progress and clear any blockers.
• Receive, interpret, and disseminate client and internal shot notes to the relevant crew, evaluating the downstream impact on schedule and flagging anything significant to the Producer.
• Organize the dailies playlist, take detailed notes throughout each review session, and confirm that all feedback reaches the correct artists.
• Oversee the inbound and outbound file transfer process in coordination with the Production Assistant, ensuring artists have the elements they need to start work efficiently.
• Evaluate completed work with VFX Supervisors to confirm approval status and distribute notes before shots move forward in the post-production workflow.

What You Bring

• Proven experience as a VFX coordinator or production coordinator on feature film or episodic television projects at a recognized VFX studio.
• Solid understanding of VFX pipeline structure, including how shots move between departments from plate delivery through comp and final output.
• Proficiency with production tracking software and scheduling tools used in a VFX environment.
• Strong note-taking discipline and the ability to translate supervisor feedback into clear, actionable artist tasks.
• Comfort working across time zones when client communication requires it, which is standard on international productions.

The Montreal studio operates with experienced department heads, so a coordinator who wants to grow toward a production management track will find the right environment to do that.
