Key Responsibilities

• Operate ENG camera equipment on location across a full range of news rounds including sport, politics, and environmental stories.
• Shoot broadcast-ready interviews, ensuring correct framing, exposure, and audio capture for news package workflow.
• Edit news stories to air within newsroom deadlines, cutting picture and sound to a broadcast standard.
• Identify and frame visual storytelling opportunities in the field, applying editorial judgment to what gets shot and how.
• Drive to and from shoot locations independently, managing equipment transport and field logistics as part of daily operations.
• Contribute actively to the editorial process by bringing story ideas and a fresh perspective to the newsroom’s coverage planning.

What You Bring

• Demonstrated dual capability in both ENG camera operation and non-linear editing within a broadcast news or television production environment.
• Hands-on experience shooting interviews, sport, and community activities to broadcast specification.
• Strong attention to detail in both the field and during the edit, particularly under time pressure.
• The ability to read a scene quickly and make independent creative decisions that serve the story.
• An unrestricted Australian driver’s licence, valid working rights in Australia, and the flexibility that casual television news production demands.
