Athletics Videographer I​/II

Florida Gulf Coast University is hiring an Athletics Videographer I or II in Fort Myers, Florida to lead video production across its NCAA Division I athletics program. This role sits inside the FGCU Athletics department and is responsible for the full production workflow, from concept and pre-production through shooting, editing, and delivery of content across broadcast, social media, and in-venue videoboards. About the Role

The Athletics Videographer at Florida Gulf Coast University oversees media production for 15 NCAA DI sports, covering everything from post-game highlight turnarounds and hype videos to sponsor content and green screen shoots. A typical production day could involve filming a morning practice, cutting a same-day social clip, and prepping a videoboard package for an evening game. The position also carries responsibility for maintaining production equipment and, at times, training staff in videography and post-production workflow.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all stages of sports video production including pre-production planning, on-location shooting, directing, editing, and archiving across 15 varsity programs.
• Produce turnkey short-form post-game content, promotional hype videos, and sponsor deliverables for website distribution, social media platforms, and in-venue videoboards.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain cameras, audio equipment, and video recording systems to broadcast-ready standards.
• Develop and implement updated production processes and best practices to improve output quality and departmental efficiency.
• Recruit and schedule on-screen talent for shoots in accordance with university and department policies.
• Remain current with NCAA, ASUN Conference, and university compliance regulations, including self-reporting obligations and annual NCAA testing requirements.

What You Bring

• Level I requires five years of directly related experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, media production, or a related field plus one year of professional experience.
• Level II requires six years of directly related experience, or a qualifying Bachelor’s degree plus two years of professional full-time experience.
• Hands-on professional experience across concept development, production shooting, and non-linear editing workflows.
• Proficiency in non-linear editing software, specifically Adobe Premiere.
• A portfolio that reflects experience in sports content production, promotional video production, or comparable short-form and event-based work.
