About the Role

The Video Editor Intern works within EIC’s marketing and communications structure, contributing to the full post-production pipeline from footage selection through to platform-ready exports. Projects span social media content, website video, and presentation materials, giving the intern exposure to multiple distribution formats and editorial styles. A typical day involves reviewing selects, building sequences in the edit suite, integrating graphic packaging, and coordinating with the design and communications teams on deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and log raw footage to identify usable selects, then build coherent assemblies that serve the narrative and pacing goals of each project.
• Handle graphic packaging including title cards, lower thirds, subtitles, and logo placement in line with established brand guidelines.
• Contribute to color grading and sound mixing at the post-production stage before final export and delivery.
• Prepare and export video files in formats optimized for each distribution channel, including social media, web, and internal presentations.
• Maintain organized media management across source files, project folders, and archived deliverables throughout the post-production workflow.
• Work alongside marketing, design, and communications departments to interpret creative briefs and meet editorial deadlines.

What You Bring

• Current enrollment in an audiovisual production, film editing, or communications program at the college or university level.
• Hands-on proficiency in at least one professional editing application such as Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or After Effects.
• A completed portfolio or showreel demonstrating full edits built from a brief, not just rough cuts or class exercises.
• Working understanding of pacing, narrative structure, and how to shape a sequence to communicate a message clearly.
• Comfort working in English, which may be required depending on project assignments and team communication.
