Job Position(s): Video Editor
Project Type: Short Film
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

Aave Labs is hiring a Video Editor based in New York to join their marketing and content team. This role sits within the digital content and social media production workflow, responsible for editing and delivering video assets across product launches, brand campaigns, event coverage, and interview-driven storytelling. It suits an editor with a strong social media content background who can move between short-form and long-form formats without losing creative sharpness.

About the Role

The Video Editor works directly alongside the marketing and design teams, feeding into a content pipeline that spans social platforms, product announcements, and ecosystem storytelling. Day to day, this means cutting raw footage, shaping narrative from brief to final deliverable, and adapting formats for platform-specific performance. The role carries real creative ownership, with input into how Aave Labs develops its visual voice across digital channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Edit and deliver video content across social and digital channels, covering product launches, brand campaigns, and ecosystem features from assembly cut through to final export.
  • Build hooks, control pacing, and apply sound design decisions that improve retention across short-form social content formats.
  • Turn raw interview footage and event coverage into structured, audience-ready edits suited to each platform’s native viewing behaviour.
  • Work within a cross-functional post-production workflow alongside marketing and design to execute creative briefs on schedule.
  • Monitor evolving social trends and editing styles, applying relevant techniques to keep content formats current and performing.
  • Maintain consistent visual and editorial standards across all output, contributing to the ongoing development of the company’s video identity.

What You Bring

  • A portfolio that demonstrates confident video editing and visual storytelling across social and digital content production.
  • Professional proficiency in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a high-output environment.
  • Hands-on experience creating platform-native content, with a clear understanding of how pacing, format, and audience behaviour differ across social channels.
  • Strong editorial judgement on hooks, sound, and retention, grounded in real content performance rather than theory.
  • An understanding of or genuine interest in crypto, DeFi, and the wider blockchain ecosystem is a real advantage in this role.

Why This Role

Aave Labs operates one of the most recognised protocols in decentralised finance, and the content this Video Editor produces reaches a genuinely global audience across a growing digital content slate. The team is lean, which means creative contributions are visible and the feedback loop between production and output is short. For an editor who wants real ownership over a brand’s video direction, this is a role with scope to shape something.

Apply now for the Video Editor position at Aave Labs and bring your editorial instincts to one of the most prominent names in the crypto and DeFi space.
