About the Role

Betterme Productions is a Gainesville-based video production company founded in 2015 that works primarily with higher education clients including the University of Florida, FSU, USF, Santa Fe College, and the Florida Department of Education. The immediate need is a full shoot day on Thursday, September 17, with ongoing freelance bookings offered to reliable crew throughout the year. On set, this person works directly alongside the cinematographer and is responsible for keeping the grip and lighting package organized, safe, and moving efficiently from location to location.

Key Responsibilities

• Load, stage, and strike grip and lighting gear across multiple locations during a shoot day.
• Build interview lighting setups with the cinematographer, including placing stands, flags, diffusion, and practicals.
• Run and dress cable, set sandbags, and maintain a clean, safe working set throughout production.
• Dress and adjust backgrounds, move furniture, and prep each location so talent and clients are comfortable on camera.
• Keep cases organized and all gear accounted for from load-in through wrap.
• Support the overall production schedule by staying proactive and anticipating what the cinematographer needs before being asked.

What You Bring

• Ability to work on your feet for long stretches and carry grip and camera gear up to 35 lbs.
• Clear communication, punctuality, and the ability to represent the company professionally in front of clients.
• Prior set experience and familiarity with grip and lighting gear is helpful but not required to start.
• Awareness of audio, gimbals, or basic camera operation is a plus for future bookings beyond PA and grip calls.
• A reliable vehicle is useful given shoot locations across Gainesville and surrounding areas.
