About the Role

This position is part of a creator-led team developing animated short-form content at Netflix, working across both generative AI tools and traditional digital content creation software. Day-to-day work involves generating concept frames and shot-ready assets from scripts or direction, supporting artists further up the pipeline in a production environment where the workflows themselves are still being defined. Key Responsibilities

• Generate concept frames, style frames, character explorations, and environment designs using ComfyUI and similar generative tools, working directly from scripts or creative direction.
• Assist CG artists in producing shot-ready assets including characters, props, and environments using a combination of generative tools and traditional DCCs such as Maya, Houdini, Blender, Harmony, and Photoshop.
• Build and maintain datasets of assets, images, and video materials to support the training of generative image and video models within the VFX pipeline.
• Test and evaluate emerging generative tooling as it becomes available, feeding findings back into the production workflow.
• Support the expansion of hybrid GenAI and traditional CG animation workflows developed by artists and technical teams across the project.
• Contribute to short-form content creation across multiple concurrent animated shorts, managing assets and communications clearly in an evolving production context.

What You Bring

• Hands-on experience with ComfyUI alongside traditional 2D and 3D DCCs including Photoshop, Maya, Houdini, Harmony, and Blender.
• A working conceptual understanding of diffusion-based rendering and animation, with experience training image or video LoRAs considered a strong plus.
• A portfolio that demonstrates AI-assisted storytelling and animation asset creation, including image editing and masking techniques.
• Ability to work independently within experimental animation production pipelines where process is actively being developed.
• Strong organizational habits suited to a production environment where assets, notes, and version tracking matter.
