Job Position(s): Videographer Training Course
Project Type: Commercial
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

Netcom Training is running a Videographer Training Course in Birmingham, England, giving you a structured route into professional video and content production. The course covers the full production workflow from camera operation and lighting to post-production editing, with hands-on training in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects across 16 weeks of practical workshops. It suits people looking to build credits and enter the industry as a videographer, video editor, or content creator without prior formal training.

About the Role

This Videographer Training Course sits across both production and post-production disciplines, preparing you to work on social media video, branded content, and client-facing projects. A typical session moves between camera handling, lighting setups, and editing timelines, so you graduate with a working knowledge of the full production pipeline rather than one isolated skill. Netcom Training delivers the course face-to-face on Mondays from 5.30pm to 9.30pm and Sundays from 9.00am to 3.30pm, with the cohort starting 21st September 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operating cameras with gimbals and tripods to capture stable, broadcast-quality footage across a range of shooting conditions.
  • Setting up and adjusting lighting rigs to achieve consistent, professional results for video production.
  • Editing footage in Adobe Premiere Pro, managing timelines, colour, and export settings to meet delivery specifications.
  • Applying motion graphics and visual effects work in After Effects as part of a post-production workflow.
  • Recording and mixing audio to picture, including syncing and sweetening dialogue and ambient sound for video content.
  • Researching and developing a client base, learning how to position yourself as a working videographer in a commercial market.

What You Bring

  • No prior professional credits required, though any personal or hobbyist video production experience is useful.
  • Willingness to work across both production and post-production disciplines within a single course structure.
  • Residency in the West Midlands and age 19 or over, with gross annual earnings below 36,126.
  • No current enrolment in other government-funded training programmes.

Why This Role

This is a free government-funded course, which means there is no tuition cost for eligible candidates in the West Midlands. Netcom Training provides six months of access to online employability courses alongside high-impact employability workshops and ongoing career support after completion. Graduates receive a Level 3 Netcom Certificate of Completion, a recognised credential when applying for videographer and video editor roles in the content creation industry.
