About the Role

The editor works within the post-production workflow, collaborating directly with producers and directors to move projects from rough assembly through to picture lock. Day to day, this means reviewing rushes, building sequences, refining pacing, and responding to notes across multiple rounds of review. The role demands someone who can manage their own timeline without constant supervision while keeping the final cut aligned with the project’s creative direction.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble raw footage and sync audio into structured sequences that establish narrative flow and meet the director’s editorial brief.
• Work through multiple cut stages, from rough assembly to fine cut, applying editorial judgment to pacing, rhythm, and scene construction.
• Collaborate with producers to manage post-production deadlines and flag any material issues that affect the delivery schedule.
• Review and select takes, making decisions about performance and coverage that serve the storytelling requirements of each scene.
• Prepare and output sequences for sound, colour, and VFX handoff, ensuring all editorial deliverables meet technical specifications.
• Incorporate director and producer feedback efficiently across review cycles, maintaining version control throughout the post workflow.

What You Bring

• Demonstrable experience as an editor across episodic television, commercial, or documentary production with a credits list to support it.
• Proficiency in Premiere Pro or Avid Media Composer within a professional post-production environment.
• Solid understanding of post-production workflow including editorial handoffs to sound design, colour, and visual effects departments.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines without compromising the quality or coherence of the final cut.
• Strong communication skills when working alongside directors and producers during the review and feedback process.
