Project Type: VFX Production
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

WPP Production is hiring a VFX Production Manager for a global CGI automotive account, based hybrid in Central London. This role sits inside the CGI production pipeline, overseeing Ford’s content output from initial rigging through to final delivery across multiple specialist teams. It’s a fit for a senior production professional who has managed complex CGI pipelines end to end and knows how to keep multi-team workflows on schedule and on spec.

About the Role

The VFX Production Manager works within WPP Production’s CGI department, managing ongoing Ford automotive content across a high-volume production slate. Day to day, this person coordinates between animators, lighters, and editors, tracking deliverables against Ford’s brand and technical standards while keeping the pipeline moving across simultaneous projects. The hybrid setup means regular in-office time in Central London with flexibility built around production cycles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full CGI production pipeline for Ford automotive content, from rigging and lookdev through animation, lighting, and final delivery.
  • Build and maintain production schedules across multiple teams, identifying bottlenecks before they become delays.
  • Manage resource allocation across animators, lighters, and compositors, adjusting crew assignments as priorities shift across the slate.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet Ford’s technical specifications and brand standards at every stage of the VFX pipeline.
  • Serve as the central production contact between internal creative teams, external vendors, and the client, keeping communication clear and decisions documented.
  • Track budgets, flag variances early, and report on production progress to senior stakeholders across both the agency and client side.

What You Bring

  • 5 to 10 or more years in VFX or CGI production management, with credits spanning automotive, commercial, or high-end advertising production.
  • Hands-on pipeline knowledge covering Maya, Houdini, Nuke, and After Effects, with the ability to speak fluently with artists and technical leads about workflow decisions.
  • Proven experience managing multi-team post-production workflows across concurrent projects with demanding turnaround schedules.
  • Familiarity with CGI asset management, version control, and the handoff processes between rigging, animation, and compositing departments.
  • Strong client-facing communication skills developed in an agency or production company environment.

Why This Role

WPP Production works at the centre of some of the largest global advertising accounts, which means the production volume and creative ambition here are genuine. For a VFX Production Manager looking to work at scale on a major automotive account, this is a rare staff-level position with scope that goes well beyond a single campaign. The hybrid model based in Central London keeps you connected to both the production team and the broader WPP network.

Apply now for the VFX Production Manager position at WPP Production and bring your CGI pipeline experience to one of the industry’s most substantial automotive accounts.
