About the Role

MS NOW produces news and politics podcasts that live on both audio-first and video-first platforms, which means every deliverable has to work across multiple specs simultaneously. The Video Podcast Editor owns the post-production workflow end to end, from prepping edit sessions and troubleshooting remote recording connections, to color correction, audio prep, and final cut. A typical day moves between technical setup for live recordings, cutting social clips, and coordinating with graphics and audio engineering on episode-level deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute final cuts of video podcasts from producer rough cuts and transcripts, delivering to platform spec for YouTube and MPX distribution.
• Perform color correction and footage optimization across digital and broadcast outputs using DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Premiere Pro.
• Handle audio de-noise and prep the initial mix in Pro Tools or Audition before handing sessions to the audio engineer for final mix.
• Establish and manage recording setups for both in-person and remote interviews, covering camera positioning, signal flow, and connection troubleshooting.
• Cut and package episode clips for social media, adapting longform podcast content into vertical video formats suited for Reels-style distribution.
• Coordinate with the graphics department alongside the EP and Production Manager to build and order GFX packages for individual episodes, including host-read ad segments.

What You Bring

• Minimum five years of video and audio production experience in a podcast, broadcast, or digital media post-production environment.
• High-level proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, and Descript, with working knowledge of Pro Tools or Audition.
• Deep technical understanding of codecs, containers, and frame rates across delivery formats.
• Hands-on camera operation experience with DSLRs, mirrorless systems, and prosumer mobile setups.
• Familiarity with current podcasting trends and video platform requirements, particularly for YouTube and social-first vertical formats.
