Project Type: Feature Film
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

Rodeo FX is collecting expressions of interest for a Post-Production Producer based in Los Angeles, to be considered for future opportunities across permanent, temporary, and freelance engagements. This role sits within the advertising division and centers on producing VFX projects end to end, from bidding through delivery, working directly alongside the Executive Producer in the LA office. It suits a producer with a strong background in post-production workflow and client-facing VFX production who is comfortable owning schedules and budgets across multiple concurrent projects.

About the Role

The Post-Production Producer operates within Rodeo FX’s Los Angeles ADS team, producing advertising VFX projects with occasional involvement in film and episodic VFX work. Day to day, this person is in the studio for client sessions, managing ShotGrid, tracking budgets, and coordinating with artists and department heads to keep projects on schedule. The role requires someone who can read a production at a glance and catch timeline or budget issues before they become client problems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the bidding process for advertising VFX opportunities in collaboration with the global ADS team, preparing quotes based on scope and resource availability.
  • Build and manage post-production schedules for all assigned advertising projects, adjusting timelines as client requests and scope changes come in.
  • Handle crew planning tasks including sketching bookings for potential projects, confirming artist assignments, and attending the weekly ADS resource meeting.
  • Set up workflows and processes for grading and online sessions, ensuring the technical pipeline supports each project’s delivery requirements.
  • Maintain ShotGrid as the live record of project status, ensuring tasks are assigned, artist estimates are logged, and timelogs are current across all active projects.
  • Support business development initiatives with the Executive Producer and contribute to post-mortem reviews to identify production process improvements.

What You Bring

  • Proven experience as a producer in a VFX studio or post-production environment, with credits across advertising and preferably film or episodic television.
  • Working knowledge of ShotGrid for production tracking and project management across VFX pipelines.
  • Comfort with VFX bidding and quoting, including the ability to assess scope and flag risk at the estimate stage.
  • Experience managing direct client relationships throughout production, including sessions and ongoing status communication.
  • Familiarity with grading and online post-production workflows is a practical advantage in this role.
