Job Type
Disney is hiring a Script Coordinator for Disney Television Animation, based in Glendale, CA. This role sits at the center of the writing and production workflow for animated television series, managing script materials from early development through final picture lock. It suits someone who has worked in a writers room or animation production office and knows how to keep a script pipeline moving across multiple departments simultaneously.
About the Role
Disney Television Animation has been producing kids and family content for over forty years, working across 2D, CG, and stop-motion formats in both long-form and short-form episodic television. The Script Coordinator serves as the communication hub between the writing team, directors, producers, and the record and casting teams throughout a series run. Day to day, this means tracking every draft, conforming scripts to animatics and locked picture, and making sure everyone from the Executive Producer to the record stage is working from the right version.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and distribute all script drafts, revisions, outlines, and premises across the production and writing teams, keeping the AirTable script status report current at all times.
- Take detailed notes during writers room sessions, story note meetings, animatic reviews, and record meetings, then conform those notes into a master script.
- Generate record drafts, pickup sheets, and ADR sheets for each recording session, and track all pickup and ADR lines through the post-production workflow.
- Conform scripts to edited dialogue and action from animatics, locked picture, and final mixed picture, ensuring continuity between written and recorded material.
- Coordinate music lyrics from locked animatics and route them through Legal and Standards and Practices approval, posting approved materials to the show production servers.
- Support the Line Producer, Casting, and Record teams by preparing all script materials ahead of sessions, and flag any script delays that could affect audio or music record schedules.
What You Bring
- Prior experience in a script coordination or production secretary role on an animated or live-action episodic television series.
- Familiarity with AirTable and standard animation studio script formatting practices.
- Experience generating and tracking ADR and pickup sheets within a post-production or animation pipeline.
- Strong proofreading skills and a working knowledge of script continuity across multiple draft stages.
- Comfort managing production calendars and coordinating scheduling for senior creative staff including Executive Producers.
Why This Role
Disney Television Animation is one of the few animation studios with an active slate spanning preschool CG, premium CG, traditional 2D, and stop-motion, which means a Script Coordinator here gains exposure to a wider range of production types than most single-format studios offer. This posting covers all Script Coordinator positions that may arise through December 31, 2026, so candidates who apply now may be considered for multiple series as they move through development and production. For anyone building a career in animation production, a credit at DTVA carries real weight in the industry.
Apply now for the Script Coordinator role at Disney Television Animation and put your animation production experience to work on one of the most recognized family entertainment slates in television.
