This is a post-production role sitting at the intersection of story editing and platform performance, turning long-form source material into finished Reels, TikShots, and YouTube Shorts built around narrative structure. The role suits an editor who thinks in terms of story arcs and emotional beats, not just cuts and transitions.

About the Role

This Short Form Video Editor works within a lean post-production workflow, pulling story from vlogs and brand content and reshaping it into short-form video that performs across social platforms. A typical day involves reviewing raw long-form footage, identifying the narrative spine, and editing multiple variations for A/B testing and performance optimization. Sound design and light motion graphics are part of the editorial toolkit here, not afterthoughts.

Key Responsibilities

• Cut long-form source footage into multiple short-form variations, structuring each around a distinct hook and narrative arc suited to Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
• Edit in Premiere Pro with deliberate attention to pacing, story structure, and platform-specific rhythm.
• Build light motion graphics in After Effects to support storytelling and visual clarity within the short-form post-production pipeline.
• Apply sound design as a narrative tool, selecting and mixing audio elements that shape the emotional pull of each edit.
• Iterate on cuts based on performance data, adjusting hooks, pacing, and structure to improve results across platforms.
• Manage multiple edit versions simultaneously, keeping the workflow organized across ongoing content deliverables.

What You Bring

• Proven credits editing short-form content with a clear narrative or storytelling approach, not just highlight-style cutting.
• Strong command of Premiere Pro and working knowledge of After Effects for motion graphics work.
• An understanding of sound design as a storytelling tool within the short-form video format.
• Comfort running A/B testing on cuts and hooks, with an eye toward what actually performs on platform.
• Location in the US or South America, with availability to work within a part-time to full-time growth structure.
