Job Position(s): Junior Videographer & Editor — Remote
Project Type: Short Film
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

Story NinetyFour, an Oxford-based podcast and video production company, is hiring a Junior Videographer and Editor for a remote, flexible-hours position. This role sits across production and post-production, covering everything from concept development and on-location shooting through to the edit, delivering finished video content for a client-facing production slate. It suits an early-career shooter and editor who wants real project ownership rather than fetching coffee on a larger crew.

About the Role

Story NinetyFour works across podcast production and branded video content, and this Junior Videographer and Editor role feeds directly into both output streams. Day-to-day work moves between pre-production planning, on-site filming with clients, and sitting in the edit suite turning rushes into deliverables. You will report into the Managing Director and lead videographer, with the Podcast Producer as a close creative collaborator on crossover projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop production concepts during pre-production, translating client briefs into structured shoot plans and shot lists.
  • Operate camera on both studio-style setups and location-based shoots, managing your own kit and on-set decisions as the primary shooter.
  • Complete the full post-production workflow from ingesting and organising rushes through to colour, audio sync, and export for platform delivery.
  • Edit video content to platform specifications, staying current with aspect ratio requirements, pacing trends, and format standards across YouTube, LinkedIn, and short-form social.
  • Bring fresh visual ideas into the creative process, contributing to treatment development alongside the lead videographer and Podcast Producer.
  • Maintain clear communication with the wider production team on project timelines, flagging any technical or logistical issues before they affect delivery.

What You Bring

  • Demonstrable experience shooting and editing video content, whether through professional credits, freelance work, or a strong portfolio of self-initiated projects.
  • Confident working knowledge of a professional non-linear editing system, with Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro being the most relevant for this workflow.
  • Familiarity with branded video production or content production environments, rather than purely narrative or fiction formats.
  • Ability to self-direct on location shoots without a full crew, making sound production decisions independently.
  • Genuine awareness of platform trends and how content production strategy differs across channels.

Why This Role

Story NinetyFour is a specialist production company with a clear focus, which means a junior hire here gets direct access to real projects rather than being one of many assistants in a larger pipeline. The remote structure and flexible hours are built into the role, not offered as a reluctant concession. For someone early in their video production career, the range of output, from podcast content to client video, builds a varied and transferable credit list quickly.
