About the Role

The Compositing Supervisor works directly alongside the Head of Compositing and Heads of VFX to keep the compositing department integrated with production, technology, and pipeline teams across projects of varying scale. Day to day, this means managing post-production workflow across active jobs, onboarding compositors to studio standards, and maintaining the colour pipeline that connects every department. This is a senior leadership position with a direct line to creative and technical decision-makers on each project.

Key Responsibilities

• Own compositing workflow oversight across all active projects, ensuring consistent methodology from brief through delivery.
• Spearhead compositor onboarding, establishing department standards and getting new team members up to speed on the Untold Studios VFX pipeline quickly.
• Maintain a thorough working knowledge of the colour pipeline across the full post-production chain, from transcoding to final grade.
• Serve as the primary communication link between compositing and upstream and downstream departments including production, technology, and pipeline.
• Collaborate directly with VFX Supervisors and Creative Directors to align compositing output with the creative intent on each project.
• Represent Untold Studios externally through industry events, publications, and outreach as a visible advocate for the studio’s work.

What You Bring

• A track record of delivering compositing work at a supervisory level across multiple projects simultaneously.
• Deep knowledge of industry-standard compositing software and a working familiarity with a range of tools used across VFX production.
• Hands-on understanding of colour science and colour pipeline management within a VFX or post-production environment.
• Experience developing production methodologies and embedding them across a compositing team.
• Strong communication skills tested across real production environments, including direct reporting to VFX Supervisors and Creative Directors.
