Senior Compositor: Craft Photoreal VFX Film & TV
- Full Time
- London, England, UK
The Production Guild
The Production Guild is hiring a Senior Compositor based in London, England, to join their visual effects team working across film and episodic television. This role sits within the VFX post-production pipeline, where the compositor is responsible for integrating live action footage with computer-generated elements to produce photoreal final images for client delivery. It suits an experienced compositing artist with a strong background in feature film production or high-end TV who can hold their own on complex, technically demanding shots.
About the Role
The Senior Compositor works within the VFX department across a slate of film and episodic projects, operating at the intersection of creative and technical disciplines. Day to day, this means receiving plates from on-set acquisition, working alongside CG artists and the VFX supervisor, and pushing shots through comp to picture lock with a consistent eye for color, lighting, and photorealism. The role demands someone who can manage their own shots independently while contributing meaningfully to the broader post-production workflow.
Key Responsibilities
- Composite live action plates with CG renders, mattes, and effects elements using Nuke to achieve photoreal results across film and television projects.
- Maintain color integrity and lighting consistency between CG and live action elements throughout the compositing process.
- Interpret VFX supervisor notes and translate feedback into technical comp adjustments without losing the shot’s creative intent.
- Manage personal shot queue and deliver completed comps on schedule within the episodic or feature film production timeline.
- Identify technical issues in plates or renders early, flagging problems to the VFX pipeline team before they compound downstream.
- Uphold the aesthetic and technical standards required for final client delivery across different broadcast and theatrical formats.
What You Bring
- Proven credits as a compositor on feature film or high-end episodic television productions.
- Expert-level proficiency in Nuke compositing, with a thorough understanding of node-based workflows.
- A demonstrable eye for photorealism, with strong instincts around color grading, light matching, and CG integration.
- Experience working within structured VFX pipelines and familiarity with production asset management systems.
- Ability to work efficiently under the time pressures typical of episodic television post-production schedules.
Why This Role
The Production Guild has an established reputation for connecting top-tier film and television professionals with production work that carries real creative weight. This Senior Compositor position offers consistent engagement across a varied project slate, including both feature film production and episodic work, giving the right person meaningful screen credits and genuine workflow depth. It is a strong next step for a compositor ready to take on greater shot responsibility at a recognised industry organisation.
