About the Role

The Senior CG Supervisor works within ILM’s CG department, contributing to large-scale visual effects projects where the quality bar is set by some of the most demanding productions in the industry. Day to day, this person is managing resources, making pipeline decisions, reviewing renders and simulations, and keeping communication clear between artists, leads, and production. The role is hybrid, which means real time on the floor with the team alongside the flexibility of remote work where the work allows.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the full CG pipeline from asset through to final comp-ready output, ensuring technical standards are met at every stage of the VFX workflow.
• Review and approve work from CG artists and leads, giving notes that are specific enough to actually move shots forward without pulling people off their deadlines.
• Act as the primary bridge between the CG department and other production teams, translating technical constraints into language that supervisors, coordinators, and clients can act on.
• Manage resource allocation across the department, balancing artist capacity against shot priorities and flagging risks to production before they become problems.
• Maintain and evolve technical standards within the department, including tool usage in Maya, Houdini, and related software across the post-production workflow.
• Partner with pipeline technical directors to identify bottlenecks and implement solutions that keep shot production moving at scale.

What You Bring

• Significant supervisory experience in CG or VFX, with credits on feature film productions or high-end episodic television.
• Strong hands-on proficiency in Maya and Houdini, with enough technical depth to engage meaningfully with TDs on pipeline questions.
• A track record of leading multi-disciplinary CG teams through full production cycles at a major VFX studio.
• Clear communication skills that work across artist, production, and client-facing contexts without losing accuracy.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
