Job Position(s): VFX Supervisor
Project Type: Feature Film
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

Rodeo FX is hiring a VFX Supervisor based in Toronto, Canada. This role sits at the intersection of creative leadership and technical oversight, responsible for guiding a project team through the full VFX pipeline from bid stage through final delivery. It suits an experienced VFX professional with a track record of client-facing supervision on high-end episodic television or feature film production.

About the Role

The VFX Supervisor at Rodeo FX owns the creative and technical direction of assigned projects, working closely with the VFX Producer and Executive Producer to shape each show’s visual approach from the ground up. Day to day, that means running dailies, turning over shots with artists, reviewing assets, and keeping the work aligned with both the client’s vision and the studio’s quality bar. On productions that require it, this person will also be present on set during the filming of VFX sequences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish the global creative and technical strategy for each VFX project, defining the approach that will carry through from pre-production to final deliverables.
  • Collaborate with the VFX Producer and Executive Producer on bid preparation, contributing creative and technical insight to scope and resource planning.
  • Conduct daily reviews of shots and assets, providing direct feedback and hands-on guidance to artists across the project team.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, presenting work, flagging progress, and finding practical solutions when creative or technical issues arise during production.
  • Monitor project budgets and schedules alongside the VFX Producer, identifying and resolving discrepancies before they affect delivery timelines.
  • Represent Rodeo FX in the broader VFX community through industry events, panels, and conferences as appropriate.

What You Bring

  • Substantial experience as a VFX Supervisor or senior compositor with verifiable credits on episodic television or feature film projects.
  • Deep familiarity with post-production workflow across multiple departments, including compositing, lighting, and CG integration.
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships through all stages of production, from turnover through final delivery.
  • Experience contributing to or leading the bid process in a high-volume VFX studio environment.
  • Comfort working on set during principal photography to support VFX-heavy sequences.

Why This Role

Rodeo FX has built a strong international reputation across episodic and feature work, with studios regularly returning to them for complex, effects-heavy productions. This position offers genuine creative authority on projects from the earliest stages, not just an execution role handed work after the key decisions are made. The Toronto location places you within one of Canada’s most active production markets, with access to a team that takes the craft seriously.

Apply now for the VFX Supervisor position at Rodeo FX and bring your production experience to a studio that works at the highest level of the industry.
