Job Position(s): Seeking 2 Apprentices for Rebate Film (OKC)
Project Type: Feature Film
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: See Post

The Oklahoma Film + Music Office is hiring two Apprentices for a rebate film production based in Oklahoma City. These positions sit at the entry level of the feature film production pipeline, giving apprentices hands-on exposure to department workflows on a qualifying rebate project shot in-state. This role suits someone early in their production career who wants structured on-set experience on an actual feature film rather than a student or short-form project.

About the Role

Both apprentice positions are tied to a rebate film production supported by the Oklahoma Film + Music Office, meaning the project is shooting in Oklahoma under the state’s film incentive program. Day-to-day work will involve assisting department heads across active production phases, from prep through principal photography. Apprentices will be embedded in the working crew, not observing from the sidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support department leads during prep days, including organizing equipment, pulling paperwork, and maintaining department logs on a feature film production schedule.
  • Assist in coordinating with the production office on call sheets, contact lists, and department-specific continuity materials.
  • Track inventory and assist with the movement of department assets between locations during principal photography.
  • Observe and participate in on-set workflows, learning the communication protocols between departments on a working film crew.
  • Help manage department wrap procedures, including returns, documentation, and end-of-day reports.
  • Attend production meetings relevant to your assigned department and take notes for department head review.

What You Bring

  • Entry-level candidates are welcome, though some prior exposure to film or television production in any department capacity is preferred.
  • Familiarity with basic production workflows, including how call sheets, one-liners, and daily schedules function on a feature film.
  • Ability to work on location in Oklahoma City for the duration of the production schedule.
  • No specific union affiliation is required for these apprentice positions.
  • Strong organizational habits and the ability to take direction clearly in a working crew environment.

Why This Role

The Oklahoma Film + Music Office is the state agency that administers Oklahoma’s film incentive program, making this a direct connection to how rebate film production actually moves through the state. For apprentices, working on an incentivized feature film means real department credits on a project with a legitimate production structure. The office’s sponsorship of Tennessee Jet and Friends reflects its broader investment in building the local industry from the ground up.

Apply now for the Apprentice position at the Oklahoma Film + Music Office and take your first step onto a working feature film set in Oklahoma City.
