Job Position(s): Videographer
Project Type: Short Film
Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

ECU Testing is hiring a Videographer at their facility in Heanor, Derbyshire. This is an in-house production role sitting within the marketing department, responsible for end-to-end video content production across YouTube long-form, social media short-form, and product documentation. It suits a self-directed shooter and editor who is comfortable turning technical subject matter into watchable, well-crafted video content without a lot of hand-holding.

About the Role

ECU Testing specialises in automotive control unit remanufacturing, and the Videographer will be the primary producer of all visual content that supports that work, from how-to explainers and product showcases to vehicle builds and track-day coverage. The YouTube channel already carries 125,000 subscribers, and the combined social following sits above 118,000, so there is an established audience and a real content pipeline to manage. A typical week moves between pre-production planning, on-set capture across automotive and workshop environments, and post-production editing against a consistent publishing schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage full production workflow for each shoot, including shot lists, scheduling, equipment prep, and on-set direction of on-screen talent.
  • Edit long-form video content for the YouTube channel using Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, meeting regular turnaround deadlines.
  • Lead camera operations for specialist content including vehicle builds, product testing sequences, and track-day filming.
  • Capture run-and-gun stills and video content for ongoing social media and website activity, often working reactively without a formal brief.
  • Manage post-production asset organisation, file management, and version control across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Work directly with marketing and management to ensure all content output stays aligned with brand positioning and broader business objectives.

What You Bring

  • A minimum of two years experience in a videography or video production role, with three to four years preferred.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, with additional Adobe Creative Suite experience considered a strong plus.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates the ability to produce clear, engaging content from technical or engineering subject matter.
  • Hands-on experience with camera operations, wireless lavalier microphone setups, and practical lighting for non-studio environments.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in video production or a related creative discipline is preferred.

Why This Role

ECU Testing has recently expanded into a 30,000 sq ft facility and is investing seriously in in-house video production as a core part of how the company grows its audience and communicates its technical expertise. The salary for this Videographer position is £32,000 per annum, alongside 32 days holiday, free on-site parking, gym access, and a Friday team meal that the staff have collectively named Fat Friday. For a video production professional who wants genuine ownership of a content operation rather than a support slot on someone else’s slate, this is a role with real scope.

Apply now for the Videographer role at ECU Testing and bring your production skills to one of the more unusual and genuinely interesting in-house studios in the East Midlands.
