Production Assistant

Industrial Light and Magic is hiring a Production Assistant for its studio in Mumbai, India. This entry-level position supports the VFX production team across daily operations, internal tracking, technical setup, and shot workflow management within ILM’s production pipeline. About the Role

ILM Mumbai is one of six global ILM studios, sharing tools, workflow, and talent across a connected production infrastructure that services major film and television projects. The Production Assistant works directly alongside CG Coordinators and Production Managers, touching everything from review playlists and shot tracking to digital file transfers and crew logistics. Contract lengths range from two weeks to one year, with positions structured on a guaranteed 50-hour work week including overtime and occasional Saturday hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Support CG Coordinators in maintaining internal tracking databases and keeping physical schedule boards current against all VFX elements and shot counts.
• Set up and troubleshoot conference rooms and Viewstations for dailies, client reviews, and vendor meetings across Linux, Windows, and Mac environments.
• Manage the overall show calendar in Google Calendar, keeping the crew aligned on dailies schedules, client reviews, and production milestones.
• Oversee all digital shipping and receiving, maintaining a detailed log of file transfers between clients, external vendors, and internal crew across locations.
• Handle practical shipping, receiving, and tracking of physical assets including models, props, and media drives shared between production contacts.
• Maintain crew and client contact lists, internal email aliases, and the show webpage, while managing craft service supply and coordinating overtime meals for a crew of 50 to 150.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in film production or equivalent experience preferred.
• Minimum two years of experience in a production support role within a VFX studio or film production environment.
• Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet tools, with a typing speed of at least 50 words per minute.
• Basic technical ability to run scripts and troubleshoot issues across Linux, Windows, and Mac platforms.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks, travel as needed, and sustain extended computer work over long production days.
