National Geographic is hiring an Executive Assistant based in Los Angeles to support senior leadership within its content and production division. This role sits at the intersection of unscripted and documentary television production, keeping executives organized and effective across an active development and production slate. It suits a sharp, organized professional who already knows how a television network operates and can move between competing priorities without losing track of the details.

About the Role

The Executive Assistant role sits within National Geographic’s content leadership team, which oversees documentary features, episodic television, and branded factual programming distributed globally through Disney platforms. Day-to-day, this person manages the machinery that keeps executives functional during active production cycles, from greenlights through delivery. Expect a schedule built around internal creative meetings, partner calls with production companies, and the administrative throughput of a network that produces year-round.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage complex executive calendars across multiple time zones, prioritizing creative reviews, network pitches, and production milestone meetings without conflict.
  • Prepare briefing materials, coverage summaries, and meeting recaps that allow executives to stay current on development projects and episodic television productions in progress.
  • Coordinate travel logistics for executives attending festival screenings, production location visits, and studio partner meetings across the Disney network.
  • Track correspondence and follow-up items across active deals, production timelines, and internal approvals, keeping nothing from falling through the cracks during busy production periods.
  • Liaise with production companies, line producers, and creative partners on scheduling and logistics as projects move from development into active production.
  • Process expense reports, purchase orders, and vendor documentation in line with Disney’s internal financial and administrative systems.

What You Bring

  • Minimum two years of experience as an assistant at a network, studio, or production company with an active unscripted or documentary television slate.
  • Familiarity with Disney’s internal administrative and communication systems is a genuine advantage in this role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong working knowledge of Outlook calendar management at an executive level.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential deal information and personnel matters with discretion throughout a production cycle.
  • Comfort reading and understanding production schedules, deal memos, and development materials without needing them explained from scratch.

Why This Role

National Geographic operates one of the most recognized factual television brands in the world, with a production slate that spans documentary features, prestige episodic television, and global co-productions distributed across Disney’s streaming and linear platforms. For an assistant looking to grow into a creative or production executive role, the exposure here covers the full arc of how factual content gets developed, produced, and delivered. This is a staff position within a major studio infrastructure, with the career access that comes from being inside a network at the level of senior leadership.
