Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

DNEG is hiring a VFX Show Production Lead for feature film work based in Sheffield, England. This role sits at the centre of the VFX pipeline, managing show operations across multiple production sites from milestone planning through to final shot delivery. It suits an experienced VFX production professional who knows how feature film schedules actually run and can hold a show together under pressure.

About the Role

The VFX Show Production Lead works within DNEG’s feature film production department, supporting projects from early planning stages through to client delivery across geographically distributed teams. Day-to-day this means sitting between creative supervisors, line producers, and department heads to keep shot schedules moving and production tracking accurate. The role carries real operational weight on major feature film productions, not just coordination support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the VFX Producer and Supervisors to plan and maintain milestone schedules across multi-site feature film productions.
  • Define asset delivery milestones and track weekly shot progress against production targets, flagging risks before they become problems.
  • Manage the on-show production team, including Line Producers and Coordinators, to ensure day-to-day operations run to schedule.
  • Collaborate with Heads of Departments to sequence shot work through the VFX pipeline in line with client expectations and delivery dates.
  • Resolve creative and technical production challenges as they arise, acting as the operational decision-maker when the Producer is not in the room.
  • Maintain client relationships by communicating schedule changes, delivery updates, and production status clearly and accurately.

What You Bring

  • Proven background managing VFX production on feature films, with credits across multiple completed projects.
  • Direct experience working within a post-production workflow at a VFX studio, with a clear understanding of shot lifecycle from brief to delivery.
  • Confidence managing multi-site production teams and working across time zones with distributed crew.
  • Familiarity with production tracking tools used in VFX pipelines, such as Shotgun or equivalent show management software.
  • Strong working knowledge of how feature film schedules are built and how milestone planning connects to vendor and studio deadlines.

Why This Role

DNEG is one of the most consistently credited VFX houses in feature film production, with a slate that spans major studio tent-poles and awards-season titles. The Sheffield operation gives this role a focused production environment within a larger global studio infrastructure, which means genuine seniority without being lost in a head office hierarchy. For a VFX production professional looking to lead at show level on substantial features, this is a real step up.
