Job Type
Amazon MGM Studios is hiring a Technical Program Manager, Production & Post Technology based in Culver City, CA. This role sits inside the Studios Technology team and is focused on building and shipping the software tools that support production, post-production, VFX, and virtual production workflows across the studio’s global content slate. It suits a program manager who has worked inside or directly alongside film and television production operations and understands how technology decisions affect crews and creative partners on the ground.
About the Role
The Studios Technology team owns the systems that run the full production lifecycle at Amazon MGM Studios, from development and acquisition through post-production workflow, delivery, and distribution. As Technical Program Manager, Production & Post Technology, you are the connective tissue between engineering, UX, applied science, and the production and post teams actually using these tools on episodic television and feature film projects. A typical day involves reviewing milestone progress, working through requirements with engineering, and sitting in discovery sessions with post supervisors or VFX coordinators to make sure what gets built reflects how productions actually operate.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain milestone-based project plans for production and post-production workflow tools, tracking risks, blockers, and key decisions across multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Define, write, and revise user stories and functional requirements in close collaboration with VFX, virtual production, and post-production stakeholders.
- Lead discovery sessions with production and operations teams to surface workflow gaps and translate them into prioritized product features.
- Own status reporting and program documentation, keeping deliverables stored and visible in shared repositories accessible to cross-functional teams.
- Manage change adoption when new product features go live, working directly with end users in production and post to support rollout and onboarding.
- Partner with product, UX, and engineering on roadmap development, using user data and research to inform feature prioritization across the post-production workflow suite.
What You Bring
- Demonstrated experience managing delivery of production workflow software or technology programs for film, television, or studio environments.
- Familiarity with post-production pipeline operations, VFX workflows, or virtual production systems at a studio or large production company.
- Proven ability to write clear product requirements and user stories for engineering and design teams building production-facing tools.
- Experience working across product, engineering, UX, and operations stakeholders in a structured program management capacity.
- Strong analytical approach to roadmap decisions, with comfort using data to support prioritization and process improvements.
Why This Role
Amazon MGM Studios is one of the few studios actively building its own internal technology organization to support content at the scale it produces, spanning original features, global episodic television, and multi-platform distribution. The Technical Program Manager, Production & Post Technology position sits at the center of that build-out, with real influence over the tools that production and post-production teams rely on daily. This is a staff-level program management role with visibility across studio operations, engineering, and creative leadership.
Apply now for the Technical Program Manager, Production & Post Technology role at Amazon MGM Studios and join the team shaping how one of the industry’s largest studios builds its production infrastructure.
