The World Food Programme is hiring a Senior Video Editor Consultant at its headquarters in Rome, Italy. This is a post-production role sitting within the Brand Management and Multimedia division, focused on editing high-profile humanitarian video content and setting the editorial standard for video outputs across global offices. The role suits an experienced post-production professional who has worked across documentary, broadcast, or non-fiction storytelling and is comfortable operating as both a hands-on editor and a senior technical lead.

About the Role

The Senior Video Editor Consultant works under the supervision of the Senior Multimedia Producer within WFP’s communications team, contributing to flagship video content and overseeing editorial quality across headquarters, regional bureaux, and country office productions. Day to day, this means cutting sequences, reviewing field-produced edits, and developing the post-production workflow standards that shape how WFP tells stories at scale. The contract runs for 11 months, with an application deadline of 27 August 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead editorial quality control across video outputs from HQ and field teams, providing structured feedback on pacing, visual identity, and storytelling consistency.
  • Edit high-profile video content aligned with WFP’s brand guidelines and humanitarian communications objectives.
  • Develop and maintain video production guidelines, technical specifications, and post-production workflow documentation for use across global offices.
  • Design and deliver practical training sessions for video editors and multimedia colleagues in regional and country offices.
  • Serve as the senior technical reference point for non-fiction video production standards, including formats, codecs, and delivery requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Multimedia Producer to ensure consistency in visual storytelling across all global communications outputs.

What You Bring

  • Demonstrable experience as a senior editor on documentary, broadcast journalism, or non-fiction video production at an international level.
  • Deep proficiency in industry-standard post-production software, including Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
  • A track record of developing editorial guidelines or training materials for distributed production teams.
  • Experience working with or for humanitarian, NGO, or international broadcasting organizations is a strong asset.
  • Fluency in English, with strong communication skills suited to providing editorial notes across multilingual teams.

Why This Role

WFP is a Nobel Peace Prize laureate and the world’s largest humanitarian organization, giving this Senior Video Editor Consultant role a production context that few non-fiction editing positions can match. The role offers direct influence over video storytelling standards across a genuinely global production operation, with colleagues embedded in conflict zones, disaster response areas, and recovery programs across dozens of countries. WFP offers a competitive compensation package detailed in the vacancy announcement.

Apply now for the Senior Video Editor Consultant position with the World Food Programme and bring your post-production expertise to one of the most consequential communications operations in the world.
