Key Responsibilities

• Lead next-day editorial planning for America’s Newsroom, setting coverage priorities and identifying enterprise opportunities before the competition does.
• Monitor breaking news across the broadcast news landscape and adjust the rundown in real time to keep coverage accurate and current.
• Generate original segment ideas and storytelling approaches that translate to compelling live television, drawing on strong knowledge of politics and national current events.
• Fill in as Senior Producer on daytime shifts, overseeing the broadcast from the control room and managing editorial decisions as news develops.
• Mentor producers and other editorial staff, providing guidance on story development, writing, and live news production workflow.

What You Bring

• Demonstrated experience producing and line producing live TV news, with a track record in breaking news environments.
• Control room leadership experience on a daily or episodic television news program.
• Strong editorial judgment across politics, national news, and social trends, with the ability to make independent decisions under deadline.
• Proven ability to write clearly and quickly, and to communicate editorial direction across on-air talent and cross-functional production teams.
• A bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field is preferred.
