About the Role

The Senior Accountant, Studios supports the film studio production division covering Warner Bros. Pictures, New Line Cinema, and Warner Bros. Pictures Animation. Day-to-day work runs through the full monthly and quarterly close cycle, with direct responsibility for journal entries, capitalized film cost schedules, and P&L review tied to active and completed productions. This is a seat inside one of the few global studio accounting teams that touches the entire content cost lifecycle from production cash through amortization.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries covering capitalized film costs, amortization, hedge gain/loss, capitalized interest, and impairments across the Warner Bros. feature film production portfolio.
• Review participation and residuals statements, then prepare accrual true-up analyses that feed into title-level P&L reporting.
• Build and maintain capitalized film cost schedules and participations and residuals liability balance schedules each close cycle.
• Prepare P&L summaries, balance sheet flux analyses, footnotes, and supplemental schedules required for internal and external reporting.
• Prepare SOX documentation and audit support tied to content cost accounting in a studio accounting environment.
• Identify process improvement opportunities within the close cycle and bring forward standardization recommendations to increase accuracy and efficiency.

What You Bring

• Three or more years of accounting or finance experience, ideally with exposure to film studio accounting, entertainment finance, or content cost reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel sufficient to build and maintain complex financial schedules independently.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple close deliverables simultaneously under real deadline pressure.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills across all levels of a finance organization.
• Comfort working independently with minimal oversight on technical accounting entries and analytical schedules.
