Job Date: Full Time
Compensation: Paid - Salary

The NFL is hiring a Seasonal Part-Time RedZone Production Assistant to join the NFL Media Group in Inglewood, California. This role sits inside a live broadcast production environment, supporting the weekly production of NFL RedZone by cutting highlights, transcribing press conferences, and working directly alongside editors and show producers during live air. It suits a TV production professional with strong NFL knowledge and real control room or edit suite experience who can move fast when the scoreboard does.

About the Role

The Seasonal Part-Time RedZone Production Assistant reports to the Coordinating Producer for NFL RedZone and works within a live television production workflow every Sunday throughout the NFL season. On a typical Sunday, you are watching multiple games simultaneously, identifying key plays, producing highlight packages for halftime fill segments, and responding to producer direction while the channel is live on air. The position runs up to seven months and requires onsite availability at the Inglewood facility from 7:30am to 4:30pm each NFL Sunday, with overtime possible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce multiple highlight packages for NFL RedZone halftime fill segments by pulling, logging, and sequencing live game footage under tight broadcast deadlines.
  • Transcribe interviews, press conferences, and field sound for editors cutting content across the NFL RedZone production pipeline.
  • Support archive operations by logging and storing important video assets according to established production schedules.
  • Operate teleprompter during live shows and assist with on-air graphics systems as directed by the production team.
  • Conduct basic statistical and editorial research to support producers building stories and live game coverage in real time.
  • Maintain clear communication with editors and producers inside the control room environment while managing multiple tasks during a live broadcast window.

What You Bring

  • A bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or equivalent professional experience in a television production environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of live broadcast workflows, including control room operations and linear editing systems.
  • Working knowledge of on-air graphics platforms used in episodic or live sports television production.
  • Strong NFL knowledge covering both current rosters and historical context, with the editorial judgment to identify what matters during live game action.
  • Proven ability to write clearly and quickly under the pressure of a live production environment.

Why This Role

NFL RedZone is one of the most watched live sports television products in the country, and working inside its production team gives you direct credits in live broadcast production at a major network media group. The NFL Media Group in Inglewood operates at a professional level that is difficult to access through most entry or mid-level live television roles. The pay range for this Seasonal Part-Time RedZone Production Assistant position is $23.75 to $26.50 USD per hour, with the NFL expecting to hire near the middle of that range.

Apply now for the Seasonal Part-Time RedZone Production Assistant role with the NFL and put your live television production skills where the game is.
