Loud and Live is hiring Scare Actors for their haunted attraction event series based at Tropical Park in Miami, FL. This seasonal performance role sits within the live events division, where actors bring original horror characters to life across five haunted houses and two outdoor scare zones, delivering high-volume guest experiences throughout the Halloween season. It suits performers with a background in physical theatre, improv, or character work, as well as anyone who can hold a role under pressure in a loud, disorienting environment.

About the Role

Loud and Live operates large-scale seasonal events that function much like a theatrical production, with house leads, stage managers, and rotating cast working across multiple set pieces each night. As a Scare Actor, you are the core talent product, responsible for maintaining character integrity and audience engagement across every wave of guests that moves through your zone. Nights run late, environments are physically demanding, and no two crowds are the same.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform fully embodied horror characters inside themed haunted house sets and outdoor scare zones, using movement, vocalization, and timing rather than scripted dialogue.
• Execute safe scare techniques that maintain guest engagement without physical contact, in line with live event safety protocols.
• Rotate between character assignments and locations as directed by house leads throughout the shift.
• Work within ensemble cast structures to maintain flow and pacing as large groups move through attraction spaces.
• Operate effectively in dark, fog-heavy, and high-decibel environments for extended periods of standing and crouching.
• Participate in casting call auditions that include improv exercises, character movement demonstrations, and scare technique assessments.

What You Bring

• Must be 18 years or older, with availability for nights and weekends from now through the end of the Halloween season.
• Physical stamina for sustained movement in confined, low-visibility performance spaces.
• Background in improv, physical performance, or character acting is a plus, though not required.
• Reliable availability and punctuality, since live event production cannot hold for a missing cast member.

The role pays competitively on a bi-weekly schedule for the seasonal run. A casting call is scheduled for Thursday, July 16th from 5pm to 8:30pm at the Westchester Cultural Arts Center at Tropical Park, no costumes or designed makeup required.
