Key Responsibilities

• Conduct research and gather materials to support longform news magazine stories across all stages of production.
• Manage media assets including archival video and still images, drawing on digital and physical archive resources to serve editorial needs.
• Coordinate shoot logistics in both studio and field environments, adapting quickly when production plans shift.
• Implement and maintain organizational systems for editorial content so producers and editors can access materials without friction under deadline.
• Work with courts, law enforcement officials, and legal record sources to obtain documentation in support of investigative and legal-focused stories.
• Support post-production workflow by assisting editors with basic media tasks, including familiarity with nonlinear editing systems such as Avid or Adobe Premiere.

What You Bring

• A bachelor’s degree is required.
• Previous experience in news or documentary production, whether in a staff or production assistant capacity, is strongly preferred.
• Basic working knowledge of nonlinear editing in Avid or Adobe Premiere is a plus for supporting post-production workflow.
• Familiarity with archival and digital research resources for video and still images is expected from day one.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary for coordinating across producers, editors, and outside sources.
• Knowledge of ABC News platforms and the broader streaming landscape is a meaningful advantage.
