About the Role

The Production Assistant I sits within the production ministry at Hillside Community Church, working directly under the Tech Director and contributing to weekly live production workflow for adult, student, and kids programming. A typical week runs Monday through Thursday in the office plus Sundays on the floor, covering setup, operation, teardown, and ongoing equipment maintenance across all three technical areas. This role also carries a volunteer development responsibility, meaning the person in this seat is expected to be actively training and building out the volunteer crew alongside their own operational duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate lighting, audio, and video systems proficiently across all live production environments at Hillside Community Church, with no single-discipline limitation.
• Lead stage setup and teardown for weekend services and midweek ministry events, maintaining production standards across all meeting spaces.
• Recruit, train, and invest in volunteers across every production area, bringing new training opportunities to the Tech Director for approval and scheduling.
• Identify production-related needs across the campus proactively and coordinate project planning with the Tech Director to address them.
• Maintain production spaces to a high standard of organization and cleanliness, and perform routine equipment repair and maintenance.
• Support the cross-training development of Production Assistant II staff as they build proficiency across live production disciplines.

What You Bring

• Minimum 3 to 4 years of working or serving across multiple live production areas, including audio, lighting, and video.
• Demonstrated experience leading or training volunteers in a live production or technical ministry context.
• Proficiency with Planning Center Online for production scheduling and coordination.
• Working knowledge of Hog lighting consoles and related live production hardware.
• Comfort operating across all three technical disciplines in a live event production environment rather than specializing in one.
